Meeting Minutes – Dunbar Community Garden

Date: November 13

1. Call to Order

  • The meeting was officially called to order at Dunbar Community Garden.

2. Hospitality

  • Burgers and hot dogs were prepared by Dalton and Brian, providing food for attendees before the business portion of the meeting.

3. Special Presentation

  • A check for $2,000 was presented to Rebecca of Women of Worth.

  • Funds were raised from the proceeds of Little Rocktoberfest.

4. Financial Report

  • Brian provided a high‑level summary of the finances from Little Rocktoberfest 2025.

  • Overall, the event was successful and generated funds for both club activities and charitable giving.

5. Education Session

  • Dalton led the club’s ongoing education series by presenting commercial examples of BJCP styles.

  • This session focused on Dunkle and Schwarzbier.

  • Members sampled and discussed the beers, comparing flavor profiles and style guidelines.

6. Upcoming Competitions & Events

  • December Pro‑Am: Schwarzbier style, partnered with Southern Tail Brewing.

  • Stone’s Throw: Ian discussed upcoming events with Stone’s Throw Brewing

  • Historic Arkansas Museum: Ian also highlighted the Friday historic brew days, encouraging members to attend and support.

7. Member Announcements

  • Birthday Brew Day: Brian invited all members to his Birthday Brew Day party on Sunday, December 14.

    • Luke, Bo, Dalton, and Brian will brew a 10‑gallon batch of Grand Masterz Amber Ale, the recipe that won gold at NHC last year.

    • Food and beer will be provided.

8. December Meeting / Christmas Party

  • The December club meeting will double as the annual Christmas Party at the Flying Saucer.

  • Members are encouraged to bring a wrapped Dirty Santa gift valued at $15–20 if they wish to participate in the gift exchange.

  • Reminder: gifted beers should not be opened until the game concludes.

9. Officer Elections

  • Officer nominations will open at the December meeting.

  • Nominations will remain open until the January meeting, when elections will be held.

10. Adjournment & Social

  • The meeting was adjourned.

  • Members enjoyed sampling a wide variety of excellent homebrews brought by attendees.
