October 2025 CAF Meeting Minutes

Thursday, October 9 2025 at Fassler Hall

The meeting was called to order by Brian. Bonz and Kesha are on Tap Time to promote Little Rocktoberfest.

Meeting Minutes were discussed. They will now be posted on the CAF website instead of only being sent out in the call to meeting emails.

Secretary’s Report: (Brian – Kesha is at Tap Time)
No new members since last month.

Treasurer’s Report: (Joe)
$10500 in the bank.
Growing with LRF sales, as Yapsody deposits those directly to our account.
We do have invoices that need to be paid.

Competitions Report: (Brian – Luke is absent)

State Fair judging has been completed. Three sessions total at Rogue Roundabout, Southern Tail, and the English’s home.
State Fair awards ceremony will be at 7pm on Tuesday 10/14 at the Fairgrounds by the Hall of Industry on the stage. Luke will try to livestream it. Details will be sent out if the stream can be done.

Education Report: (Brian, Dalton is absent)
Idea – Bring commercial examples of uncommon styles to meetings to sample and hold discussions to expose members to styles that they may not be familiar with.

Little Rocktoberfest Announcements:
Try to park around the 6th Street NLR Visitor’s Center and cart your gear into the plaza.
Setup for homebrewers will begin at 1:00pm. Pro Brewers setup starts at 12:00pm.
We should have access to sandbags if needed. There are tiedowns for tents on the Plaza.
Every homebrewer will get a table. Check for your assigned spot.
Homebrewers should bring kegs, serving equipment, tents, chairs, and token collection receptacles.
CAF will provide tables and ice.
Armbands: Green for General Admission, Green Sparkly for VIP, DDs will be red. Brewers and volunteers will have blue armbands.
Nancy Knutson will be the volunteer coordinator.
Razorback Zack with Inside the Hogpen discussed his live broadcast at the game and the steinhoist. Homebrewers are encouraged to come on the air for a few minutes each to discuss their homebrews.
The details of the LRF budget were discussed and how we were able to lower costs this year.

Learn to Homebrew Day is November 1. We have had very poor attendance at previous years’ events. This year will be at Brian’s house for Beer education. Alex and Cody are putting together a Learn to Brew Day event at the Hot Springs Renaissance Fair on the same day.

December Meeting: Tentative location – Flying Saucer for the Christmas Party
