8/4/2025 CAF Meeting at Rogue Roundabout

Upcoming Monthly Meetings were discussed:

  • September at Fassler Hall
  • October at Professor Bowl
  • November at Dunbar Gardens (Pending)
  • December at Homer’s (Pending)

Luke is now a BJCP Certified Judge. The possibility of hosting a tasting exam locally was discussed. We must have at least 6 people to sit for the exam to host one.There are regional BJCP representatives that can help us host.

The upcoming State Fail competition was discussed.

  • The Fair itself starts on 10/10.
  • We need help mystifying and sorting and help stewarding and judging.
  • Shipping and drop off ends on 9/12.
  • Drop your entries off at the Nurserie or bring them to the September meeting.
  • Mystifying will be done on 9/12. We are up to 90 entries currently with a max of 150.
  • Pre-judging sessions for new judges will be held
  • Tracy at Southern Tail will host judging sessions on 9/20 (9am and 1pm sessions)
  • Luke is willing to host break-out sessions on other days.
  • 1 table per set of judges is the goal

Little Rocktoberfest was discussed.

  • No BJCP competition for LRF this year.
  • We need more members to volunteer to serve at the event
  • We need volunteers to help pour
  • Each table that serves gets a $25 voucher from the Nurserie
  • Partnered with Argenta and the Dog Town Throwdown this year
  • Push the Wyndham reservations to everyone. $119 a night with breakfast buffet and shuttle to the event is a great deal!

Competitions Report:

  • December Pro-Am with Southern Tail. Style is 8B: Schwarzbier
  • Bo spoke about his experience brewing his Pro-Am winner with Gravity

Treasurer’s Report:

  • $9k in the bank
  • $3500 in the CheddarUp account
  • We have some bills from the State to pay
  • Deposit to Argenta for the Plaza for LRF: $1k paid, still owe $1k
